An article called Stand up and Defend Life (I can't embed but if you google that + Amherst, you can find it...) was recently published in the Amherst College newspaper. I'm a student at Amherst and I was appalled that they would allow something so blatantly misogynistic to be published. I was wondering your opinion--should things like that be given a school sponsored outlet (intellectual freedom) or are there legitimate grounds for complaint given it's radical character and sexism?

I see it here. Indeed, it is misogynist. But even misogynists get to say what they want to say and write what they want to write. Frankly, it may be a good thing that this piece was given space in a school paper - so that college students who may not be as politicized as others will see just how radical some people are about forced pregnancy. It’s a good preparation for the bullshit nonsense you have to deal with outside of college. Sigh.
